Crispy, Juicy Sous Vide Jerk-Seasoned Turkey Thighs (Gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, soy-free)

Get ready for the BEST turkey thighs you have ever laid your taste buds on!!! Simply seasoned turkey thighs are gently cooked for 6 hours and then ever-so-briefly skin-seared in a hot pan to give you the juiciest, most succulent turkey you can imagine. I am seriously considering ditching the whole turkey for Christmas dinner and serving these instead!

Never heard of sous vide (pronounced 'soo veed')? No biggie. It's simply a method of sealing food in an airtight plastic bag and cooking it low and slow and slow in a water bath using an immersion circulator. I picked mine up on Amazon and absolutely love it!! If you think your Instant Pot is easy, you HAVE to try sous vide cooking. ;)

This meal is so simple, it doesn't even need a formal recipe... Just directions.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat the water bath to 148 degrees F.

  • Season 2 turkey thighs liberally with salt, pepper, and jerk seasoning.

  • Place in a vacuum sealed bag or ziplock bag with all of the air removed (I use the water-displacement method of sealing the ziplock almost all of the way, then placing it into a pot of water almost up to the top of the bag which pushes the extra air out, then seal and use).

  • Cook the turkey thighs in the water bath for 6-10 hours.

  • When the turkey has finished cooking, preheat a skillet on high.

  • Remove the turkey from the plastic bag.

  • Sear just the skin-side down for 2 to 3 minutes until crispy (you just want to crisp the skin... not the meat).

  • Serve and enjoy!
